I contacted the same dealer again and notified them about it and set up an appointment to take my car back. It would only do it during idle after being turned on.īut as days went on it started making the sound more often, just like it originally did before I had my blower replaced by the dealer. Once I put it in gear and took off, it went away and wouldn’t come back. Usually it would only make the knock sound for about 1-2 seconds whenever it was idling after I would turn the car on. However during the 2nd week, the sound came back but not as often as it did before. When I got my car back, it didn’t make that isolator knocking sound anymore for the entire first week. I left my car there for about 4 days and they replaced my blower with a brand new one. ![]() ![]() Upon inspecting my car they stated I was qualified for a brand new supercharger replacement through warranty. The original isolator as installed at the factory contains a spring mechanism and is notorious for noise and a short service life. When I started to hear the blower start making knocking sounds from the isolator, I took my car to a local Cadillac dealer. The supercharger isolator is part of the supercharger drive assembly and is located in the supercharger snout. After the 2nd week of owning my V, I checked the car fax and noticed it didn’t state that it had its blower replaced through warranty in the service records. I know the V2 generation V’s all had a recall to replace the superchargers because of the isolator inside the factory Eaton supercharger on the LSA, as well as on the ZL1’s. I currently own a 2014 V sedan I purchased June of last year. ![]()
